With all the snow and ice that we have had in Wales over the past few days i thought i would share a tip for those of you who have to take the car out like i did to get in that last but of Christmas shopping..
Like many i awoke to find my car covered in snow and ice, and without a scrapper i found myself a little bit stuck as my de-icer had run out in the days before. i hunted around for something that would suffice, and came accross an old scratched pingu dvd of the kids.
Surprisnigly the dvd removed the ice very quickly and with relative ease, it's flexibility helpped a lot i think. I would say that it was better than a propper ice scrapper 
i now have the dvd to hand in the car... i doesn't have to be a pingu dvd, any dvd will work lol
!!!--- Make sure you only use old dvd's as they probably wont work after it has been used as an ice scrapper ---!!!
